Passing Thoughts Of A Mad Priest

The problem with the concept of universal human rights is that it is based on the false belief that there are absolutes in life. The truth is that all things are relative.

Although the promotion of human rights has encouraged us to view each other as being of equal worth it has also led to selfish individualism, dangerous divisions in society and stalemates that are proving impossible to overcome. Therefore, I believe it is time for us to ditch the idea of human rights and embrace something more realistic, a system that is based on the simple fact that some things are better than others and that the noblest thing we can do in life is to reduce the pain and suffering in the world or, at the very least, not to add to it.
