After a couple of days of atrocious weather which, most of the while, kept us confined in our caravan fearful that the gale-force winds might pick us up and deposit us into the middle of Luce Bay, the sun came out and we were able to get out into the beautiful, Scottish countryside once again.

Our walk began on the banks of the River Cree at Newton Stewart and it took us up through the village of Minnigaff, across Queen Mary's Bridge over the Penkiln Burn into the Cumloden Deer Park. After traversing moorland we entered Knockman Wood before heading back down to the River Cree.
