Daily Prayer At Saint Laika’s — 1 Comment

  1. A story my mom (OBM) told me, I’ve never forgotten. When she was an undergrad at “Cal” (University of California, Berkeley) in 1944, she attended commencement ceremonies, where a Japanese-American student received the (merit) title of Valedictorian. He awarded this distinction in absencia: “his country has called him to other duties” (he was locked away in a camp).

NB: some have defended Donald Trump’s call on a ban on ALL Muslims entering the U.S. and/or registry of ALL Muslims in the U.S., w/ the example of Japanese-Americans in WW2!!! :-0 Let’s see $20K restitution in 1988 dollars, adjusted for inflation . . . perhaps The Donald would be willing to pay???
