Holy Communion For Candlemas

The story of the birth of Jesus Christ and the account of his presentation in the Temple are included in the Christian scriptures in part to emphasise that Jesus, the Word of God, entered into the world in the same way we all enter into it. God became human in Christ. God became flesh and blood in Christ. God became one with us in Jesus Christ. The sacrament of holy communion celebrates this human with divine togetherness and is a real reminder of Christ's presence among us and within us and the unity we share with each other because of our unity with him.

At Saint Laika's everyone is welcome to take communion and be in communion, with each other and with God. There are no exceptions.

If you want to physically partake of communion you will require a small piece of bread and a small amount of drink (preferably made from grapes and containing alcohol). How you view the nature of this part of the service is completely up to you.
