Welcome to Saint Laika's on this most glorious of days.
At Saint Laika’s everyone is encouraged to eat and drink in remembrance of Jesus Christ, as he commanded his followers to do. No one is excluded and if you have been pushed out of a church in the past or if you do not feel part of the institutional churches, for whatever reason, you are especially welcome here. If you want to physically partake of communion you will require a small piece of bread and a small amount of drink (preferably made from grapes and containing alcohol). How you view the nature of this part of the service is completely up to you.
Once upon a time, when Anglican priests were even more poorly paid than they are nowadays, it was customary for the monies put into the Easter collection plate to be given to the vicar of the parish. This was a much needed bonus on top of their regular stipend. I do not have a regular stipend. The donations I receive from the supporters of my online ministry are my only source of income and, at present, this is barely enough for me to live on. Therefore, I am asking all of you who do not contribute towards my ministry already, and who can afford it, to consider making a donation to this year's Saint Laika Easter Collection. Please do so by clicking on the PayPal button. You do not need a PayPal account to send money. I am really very grateful to everybody who does support my work on the internet. Those of you who do are a Godsend.
