Our understanding of god can be either objective or subjective. As god is not perceivable as an object from where we are at this present time we can only, if we are honest with ourselves, regard god subjectively. The most definite statement about god that I can make with integrity is that my god is real for me, and even then I must, as a reasoning creature, admit my doubts.
But we must not be scared of the subjective. For each individual the subjective can be as real as the objective (if, in this universe, there is any such thing as the objective). In fact, we should embrace the subjective and make it the heart of all our religions as this would lead to a huge reduction in suffering, pain and death. And so the Kingdom of God will become an objective reality only if we now view it subjectively.
