THE PRAYER LIST – 14TH. FEBRUARY 2011

From THE BBC:

Eleven people have died in a stampede at an election rally in Nigeria. At least 29 others are said to have been injured.

The rally in the southern city of Port Harcourt was part of President Goodluck Jonathan's election campaign ahead of a poll due in April. The crowd panicked after a policeman fired in the air to try to disperse crowds at the gates as people left the rally.

Linda is dying. Linda is also flying back to Zambia tomorrow. She was in church today, and she did not look well. Please pray that Linda can make the trip in a measure of comfort.

Fr Ernan McMullin, who taught me what little philosophy of science I know, died this week at the age of 86. He was easily one of the best professors I ever had.

***

Please pray for our friend, Song, at SONG IN MY HEART, who is being bullied by her landlord at the moment.

***

Please pray for Our Cathy who has a really nasty dose of flu at the moment.

THE PRAYER LIST – 14TH. FEBRUARY 2011 — 5 Comments

  1. While I was over at the Gratefulness site lighting my candle, I checked into the Word for the Day. Here it is:

“Even if I should be locked up in a narrow cell and a cloud should drift past my small barred window, then I shall bring you that cloud, Oh God, while there is still the strength in me to do so.”

    — Etty Hillesum

Etty Hillesum has long been a hero of mine. If you don’t know her story, do look up information about her.

  2. Prayers ascending, and a virtual {hug} for Cathy.

P.S. I *still* haven’t heard about my health insurance yet—and it was SUPPOSED to start tomorrow! >:-0
