THE PRAYER LIST — 14 Comments

  1. Prayers for all affected by the earthquake in Chile. May the dead rest in peace and rise to glory; may the injured receive the help they need from humans and the consolation they need from God.

Prayers for all suffering from exclusion, discrimination, and hatred. May they be assured that God loves them just as they are.

Prayers for anyone not sure what their next step should be. May they be encouraged in their searching.

Prayers that these stupid tablets are doing what they should so I can stop taking them and get back to eating normally in a week’s time. This is NOT my idea of a Lenten fast. Grumph.

  2. For a friend who is in the ICU now with pneumonia. She has been treated for lung caner in the past, which included removal of a half a lung, so this is a very serious matter.

  3. Remembering all in harms way from the tectonic events of today centering in Chile, as well as all effected in the Pacific.

It started with 8.8 but the area is rocking and rolling with a cluster. One even in Argentina.

  4. Prayers for those in Chile, and for the people of the Pacific in the path of the tsunami. Prayers for aid workers and aid agencies: for strength courage, and sustenance. And that we on the sidelines may be a source of help.

  5. Please pray for my 14 year old niece, Gabrielle, who suffered a severe skin allergic reaction on her forearm. She then developed a severe infection which is now requiring skin grafts on a 10cm x 10cm area. She will probably be in the hospital for a week or two.

  6. Prayers ascending for all.

Especially remembering all the un-/under-/too discouraged to be/unemployed (inc. myself).

    And for Marla, with gratitude.

  7. My favorite aunt, Vennecia Hutcherson Peeke, has passed away.

[The one who, when I was 18, gave me my first joint, and took me clubbing in San Francisco! Good Times! :-D]

May she rest in peace, and rise in glory (along w/ my favorite uncle, Carroll Peeke Jr.)!

Prayers for her surviving children (esp. her youngest, w/ Down’s Syndrome, who had been living w/ her. She’ll have to move across the country, to live w/ her sister. God provide her comfort.)

  8. Prayers for our brother Jonathan as he discerns where his vocation as a priest will lead him next…

“O God, by whom the meek are guided in judgment, and light riseth up in darkness for the godly: Grant us, in all our doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what thou wouldest have us to do, that the Spirit of wisdom may save us from all false choices, and that in thy light we may see light, and in thy straight path may not stumble; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (TEC BCP, p. 832)
