WHEN OCICBW… DOES WOMEN,BLACK PEOPLE OR JEWS — 35 Comments

  1. Actually, MP, as a person decended from an offender, I find that remark quite offensive. (And by the way, it wasn’t him. He didn’t do it.)

  2. Ah the advantage of being Romma — nothing offends me. Most everything the holy people say about us is true!

  3. I was rather under the impression that Britain kept all the undesirables and gave them jobs in Parliament, the military and the church.

Anyway, we ain’t talking about my forebears – my mum’s ancestors skipped this country by choice on the second fleet, and my dad’s in 1919 – they’d all decided they’d had enough of Britain… can’t for the life of me think why.

  4. RE: “You can’t really complain. Remember that you are a people who are all descended from offenders.”

Yes, that is correct – offenders against the Crown (a.k.a. “criminals”) or offenders against society (a.k.a. prison guards or politicians).

RE: “We had to send our undesirables somewhere after America stopped taking them.”

Yeah, we stamped them “RETURN TO SENDER – No such colony at this geographic location”

  5. Something I only discovered a couple of years ago was that your first slaves were transported criminals from Britain. It was only when you became independent that you stopped taking them and we had to start sending them to Australia. And that was when the black slave trade really took off.

  6. dammit, I go away for a few days and there is another episode of this. I swear this is the third time I’ve missed the fun of being offended by something you’ve said. would you send me an email next time you plan on getting everyone offended? I don’t want to miss watching the next one. I feel so left out. anyway whatever it was that you said I’m offended. just horribly horribly offended. shocked. and sorry that I missed all the fun again. whatever it was just don’t do it again. without warning me of course.

  7. Hehehe. I’m fluffended!!!!!! (has the image of a duck’s ass for a face…or like…a really, really ANGRY fluffy bunny…)

    I miss Opus. A lot.

  8. Texans always have a chip on their shoulders.

That would be a “fry” to you lot, wouldn’t it? Or are you saying they have crisps on their shoulders?

  9. Well. I’m offended that you didn’t bring this business of people being so easily offended by every little thing before. Only the word of choice here in the colonies is “outraged”. If someone claims that the first dog, Bo, has fleas, everyone with access to a news outlet or a mic instantly shrieks that they are “outraged”. It is de rigour (?sp) to be outraged at least once a day at least.
“Offended” is for softies and I am outraged by such mild terminology :>)

Tracie, you perturb me … you do know this isn’t true, don’t you? Just checking

  11. Oh, I don’t know, Cathy. Have you seen the things Australians put on the rooves of their restaurants? The whole lot of them offend against good taste.

  12. Have you seen the things Australians put on the rooves of their restaurants?

OK, this made me laugh. MP, what on earth??!!

What, you’ve seen an Australian restaurant where the sight of the roof has put you off for life?… What was on the roof?? Please tell…

  13. Offended?!

Heh. I’m a Southerner. Ain’t nobody offende until they’ve seen me suck the goody off’n a piece of beef-fat.

As far as food and offensive goes, I have to give it to MadPriest on this one about the Australians.

    Meat-Pie Floater

    That’s all I’m sayin’.
