Passing Thoughts Of A Sacked Priest

There were reports on the BBC over the weekend that the Church of England may be heading for serious financial problems because of a lack of tourists in their fancier buildings and a lack of pennies being put into their coffers because of the lack of congregations in their parish churches.

I'm wondering if it would be so bad if the Church of England did go bust and had to be closed down and its buildings sold off to property developers. What would we lose? A cumbersome institution that contains more liars and hypocrites than all our other institutions put together (including the House of Commons).

If it is going to die I hope it does so in my lifetime so I can dance on its metaphorical grave.
