Police have detained a clergyman for the attempted premeditated murder of another clergyman and the illegal purchase, storage and possession of firearms at the Kintsvisi Monastery in Georgia’s eastern Shida Kartli region.
The investigation has established that the detainee, only identified as K.K., while moving on the road in the village of Rieti, Gori district, allegedly opened fire from an automatic firearm on the vehicle, which was driven by another clergyman of Kintsvisi Monastery. After that, he fled the scene.
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs says that no one was injured during the accident.
I would not be at all surprised if the incident happened immediately after a deanery synod (fellow priests will know exactly what I am saying).
