In January this year, Bong County Senator Henry Yallah told youths of Gbarnga who called on him to re-contest in 2020 senatorial election that he would wait for divine direction before declaring his intent. He said he was praying to seek divine direction on his second term bid and promised to make known God’s plan concerning his bid later during the year. The Bong County Senator then said if God gives him the go-ahead, he would not hesitate, but promised to return to private life if God said the otherwise.

On Sunday, April 28, 2019, Senator Yallah said he had received a directive from God to contest in 2020.

“God has asked me to seek a second term and I know he won’t let me down. This was the same God who directed me to contest in 2011 and I won despite all the odds at the time."
