All men who are born of a woman are as closely related to their female ancestors as women are. If there is a transference of experience through the generations it passes on to both genders. Pain women have suffered in the past is not just the inheritance of women, it is the inheritance of all. If both men and women believed this then there would be a far greater likelihood of there being less abuse of women in the present than if we continue to treat the abuse of women as a battle of the sexes thing and go all tribal about it.
I am told that because the lives of women have been ruined by men in the past it is expedient for a man's life to be ruined by false accusation. Men should just "suck it up."
I am always scared by exceptions to the rule. It can so easily lead to lynching, both metaphorical and real.
