The Ellan Vannin Pack Meet Up – October 2015

On Saturday last, a bunch of Ellan Vannin border collie owners (both Quiz and Ed are both of the Ellan Vannin line) met up at Lord Stones Country Park in the North York Moors for a get-together. It was really great to make a whole load of new friends who I had previously only known through our Facebook page. The facilities at the park are excellent. There's a very good cafe/restaurant and a shop selling local produce. But the best bit is the moor itself where the dogs got to run around as free as God intended their ancestors to be. It is amazing how so many border collies (not, it has to be admitted, the most sociable of dogs) can meet up together (most for the first time) and just get on with the job of having fun together. I have not been so sad to see the ending of a day for many a year.

  1. I’m glad the “fur’ner” Delphi got to join the Happy-Yappy Throng, too. [Do you not have dog parks in Blighty, where any good ol’ mutt can come and run around? I was in same today, w/ Coco and Buddy. No proper papers (of particular “lines”) required! Admittedly the Carmichael Park Canine Corral is not as picturesque as the moors, here.]
