I, Leper

So, the vicar of the church I have been worshipping at for the past few years tells the rural dean that I would like to speak to him now that I've got permission to officiate. The rural dean refuses to see me. He says that only the rural dean of the place where I live can speak to me. But that rural dean is an evangelical in an evangelical deanery which is why I worship in another deanery. I'm never going to use my permission to officiate in the deanery where I live so what is the point of talking to the officials of the deanery in which I live. Anyway, I was in contact with my local rural dean a couple of years ago and it was like talking to a brick wall. He had absolutely no empathy whatsoever. He was 100% a company man.

At the end of the day it is all about passing the buck. Although people in the church will talk to the media about helping the outsider, even those outsiders like me who carry round with them the stigma of mental illness, it is just lip service. Nobody in the Church wants to help us. We are an embarrassment to be avoided at all costs. Not only are they happy to leave me lying in the gutter of life, they were the bigoted, heartless hypocrites who kicked me into the gutter in the first place.

It's a complete sham.
