This morning I was ten minutes late for my appointment with my dentist for reasons well beyond my control. I was told by the receptionist that the dentist couldn't fit me in, even if I waited, and that I had to make another appointment. This would be fair in my book if it wasn't for the fact that I have probably wasted a month or so of my life already sitting in waiting rooms well beyond my appointment time.
At the end of the day, whether I'm a private patient or a national health patient, I pay their bloody huge wages out of my pitifully small wages. They should be as eager to please me, and accommodate me on the very few occasions I'm slightly late for an appointment, as the sales assistant in John Lewis' who is trying to sell me a new computer etc.
