This is completely true but it wouldn’t surprise me if most people feel like they just don’t know how to deal with someone who is depressive. So they fall back on “let the pros handle it.” Maybe they don’t want to say or do something wrong that will trigger that person to go off the edge completely.

Just heard on the news that my local Suicide Prevention Hotline experienced a 250% spike in calls in the 48 hours after Robin William’s death. I’m so glad those volunteers do what they do…
More info is coming out that Robin was a: bipolar and b: in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease. His wife made the announcement about the Parkinson’s but not anything about bipolar disorder, so there’s no telling how true that part is. It would not be surprising, though.
I loved him to bits, and I’m still really sad about his death.
I doubt that all that manic behaviour was all acting.
