The Privileges Of Christianity In England

I'm having trouble understanding why forced (Muslim?) marriages are now outlawed in England as they are contrary to the moral consensus whilst refusing to marry same gender couples, is not only being openly tolerated but is even enshrined in law. Why are Muslims not allowed to act in accordance with their religious beliefs when such actions would be against the moral consensus but Christians are allowed to?

  1. The real issue is whether or not the marriages are officially recognized and recorded. Marriages are contracts between two consenting adults. Minors cannot enter into contracts because they are not free. Some communities prefer to believe that they are authorized to permit and prohibit contractual relationships between individuals. They can believe what they want, but they cannot effect a relationship. They can affect it both positively and negatively. But then that’s true of all relationships.
