Omusati education director has told disgruntled parents that the principal of Oshilemba Combined School, Teeleleni Shaanyenge, whom they believe is responsible for 'demonic spirits' allegedly haunting the school, is not going anywhere. The parents are demanding that Shaanyenge and his alleged 'demonic spirits' should be removed from the school with immediate effect. Pupils at Oshilemba have resolved to boycott classes until the school premises have been cleansed and their parents support this boycott.

Untitled-1However, Omusati Education Director, Loide Shatiwa, who spoke on behalf of the school management, told the parents, "There are procedures to be followed. You cannot just demand Shaanyenge's removal from the school like that, and expect him to be removed, especially when you are just accusing him of something that you are unsure of. You should consult the school board and state your reasons why you want him removed from the school."

The situation at the school has been described as extremely disruptive to learning, especially girls, who are gripped by hysteria (typical).
