The Forward in Faith lot should be extremely suspicious about the deal they struck at Synod today. Especially the bit about being able to appeal to an "independent" adjudicator.
I was told by the bishop who sacked me that I could appeal his decision to an independent adjudicator. I asked who it would be. And he replied that it would be a bishop from another diocese.
Like that would be independent. The fact that no bishop in England and Wales who I have approached will even give me permission to officiate let alone a job once they have spoken privately to my former bishop sort of proves just how fair and just your average Church of England bishop is (not). They just better hope that God is not at all like themselves.
