WHEN IS A TORY B**TARDNOT A TORY B**TARD?

David Cameron (the British Prime Minister) really annoys me. He's the leader of the Conservative Party. Leaders of the Conservative Party have always been complete bastards (Thatcher) or doddery old buffoons (Heath). They have always been easy to hate as they have been totally devoid of any complexity that might show them to be not as bad as they first seem. At first glance Cameron should be a worthy successor to Thatcher et al with his determination to give our national assets (health service, school system etc.) to his rich friends. But then he comes out with statements like this one:

"The £1000 marriage tax allowance will apply to straight and gay couples, as well as civil partners. Love is love, commitment is commitment."

I just cannot cope with such non-stereotypical behaviour. Capitalists should be capitalists and socialists should be socialists. Mind you, the last Labour government in the UK was more right wing than most pre-Thatcher tories so I suppose Cameron's occasional slip into ethical liberalism is hardly surprising.

  1. “They are effectively saying to millions of couples who co-habit, have kids out of marriage, or are single parents that their situation is not good enough and that they should pay more tax than people who’ve made a lifestyle choice the Tories approve of.”
    Ethical liberalism?

    • It’s exactly the same for smokers and drinkers of alcohol. Tax is commonly used to control people. The people who are penalised the most are the single and childless couples. They pay for the children of other people through their taxes and do not receive “family allowance.”
