Christians should never use scripture when engaging in moral debate. Any moral proposition that cannot be justified without resorting to scripture is remote from God’s creation and of no worth. God did not create a world only to then write a book to contradict it. God did not give us the ability to reason for ourselves only to then write a book that makes reasoning redundant.
