  1. Hans Kung, in an op-ed piece in the NY Times today imagined that such a thing could happen; bold moves to modernize the Church.

    But seeing all those company men in red dresses and lace, some of them guilty of proptecting pediphiles, gathering to elect one of their own to the job does not give me any warm fuzzy feelings about Rome doing anything more than doubling down on the status quo.

  2. While I get the shorthand of the cartoon, the nun praying for a Pope “from the 21st century” would probably NOT be wearing a habit.
