Keith O'Brien probably woke up this morning thinking, "Oh well, at least things can't get any worse."

Those nice people at the DAILY MIRROR have only gone a printed a photograph of the former cardinal of All Scotland standing alongside the UK's number one celebrity paedophile, the late Jimmy Saville. And with two young girls in the picture as well.

I understand Scotland is surrounded by over 790 islands, many of them remote and uninhabited. My advice to Keith would be that he should get himself to one as soon as possible. If he lies low people will eventually forget all those nasty things he said about gay people and all those sermons he preached about not being a hypocrite.

    • I didn’t say it was. Personally I don’t think O’Brien has done anything wrong except be guilty of gross hypocrisy and, possibly, abuse his power in order to try and get some man on man action.

    • Joe O, it’s YOUR Popoid side which keeps conflating “sexual abuse of boys” w/ “gay male”. “Remember, this isn’t a pedophilia case”: tell that to the gay seminarians you’re kicking out!

      “Physician, Heal Thyself”

    • Might not have been hypocrisy but simply a failure to live in accordance with his own convictions. Railing against the Catholic Church is a waste of time. Hear Lord Thomas Macaulay, a 19th century Protestant:
“The Catholic Church was great and respected before the Saxon had set foot on Britain, before the Frank had passed the Rhine, when Grecian eloquence still flourished in Antioch, when idols were still worshipped in the temple of Mecca. And she may still exist in undiminished vigor when some traveler from New Zealand shall, in the midst of a vast solitude, takes his stand on a broken arch of London Bridge to sketch the ruins of St. Paul’s.”

    • No. Trying to seduce his young colleagues was “a failure to live in accordance with his own convictions.” His subsequent campaign against gay people was hypocrisy.

    • I rail not against the Catholic Church, Joe—as an Episcopalian, I am blessed, in my unworthyness, to be a member—but against the horrifying sins of the Popoid branch.*

      * Fully acknowledging my Anglican branch has its sins, too.

Prayers for faithful Roman Catholics: may you have divine strength to PURGE the Popoid criminals that currently control it!
