Being of a certain age I knew all the words to "We Are One In The Spirit," had "Jesus Christ - He's The Real Thing" stickers on my school books and owned Fish Co's first album.
"33 Ways You Know You Were A Youth Group Kid" at BUZZFEED is probably more relevant to Christians under forty but it's a giggle for all who spent their teenage Sunday evenings in the youth room at Church but have since undergone successful deprogramming.
Ah yes, “the Prayer of the Just”.
Ahhhhh….brings back some memories, that does. 🙂
“Just.”
Very annoying.
Especially in all those MANY cases where the faux-sensitive “Prayer Leader” (God-Boss) followed up a prayer like this w/ “We just want want you to know God loves you, but we just can’t accept your sinful lifestyle. We just want you to be OK with that.”
>:-/
Just peachy.
In some circles, this is known as the “Je-sus we-jus” prayer.
Je-sus we-jus want to…
Father-God we just want to praise you that Jesus came down and just made every thing all better!
