Yes. Very true. But at least the Reverend Joseph Ratzinger (is that what we will have to call him now?) has realised that he's no use to man or beast anymore.

I suppose he remains an archbishop, so we should probably begin calling him the very reverend. I wonder if he will offer himself as a supply guy to the local bishop? That would be amusing to watch!
I don’t believe in archbishops. They are not Biblical.
Jonathan, we don’t have to call him anything. 😀
I prefer to call him “history.”
I suspect it’s Joseph Cardinal Whatsisname…
Nobody knows – it hasn’t happened for 600 years. I won’t Very Rev as he is a Cardinal and that’s for life and the title is Eminence and if he offers himself as supply to the local bish, that would be to his successor as Bishop of Rome, Pope Whotheheck- will notice the difference!

I guess I did not know Cardinal was forever. So he keeps the red derby then.
So he is now, his eminence Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger. That is a mouth full!
His brother who is a bishop expects him to do research and write. Maybe his brother under the skin can get him an office at a British university? They could collaborate on a screed against progressives and post 1600 modernity…

He may well be known to history as Cardinal Error.
Jim, His Whatever will always be a member of the Clan of the Red Beanie.
Back to the Ordinariate. Considering the way it was sprung on Dr. Williams, might we call them the illegitimate children of B-16? :-0 Just speculatin’.

You are absolutely right, Jim. They are illegitimate for two main reasons. Firstly, the pope is not married. Secondly, they are all bastards.
The Pope, whom we call Papa Joe Has decided its time he did go Soon a new Pope they’ll make And he’ll soon want to take Gorgeous George, but old Joe will say “No”
