A well deserved Gumby Of The Day accolade is hereby presented to Urs Schwaller of the Swiss Christian Democratic Party who, in an attempt to derail the government's plans to allow gay couples to adopt said that, while he did not doubt that gay and lesbian people could take of children as well as heterosexuals, there was in his view no need to give them rights to adopt.
