MADPRIEST’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY — 6 Comments

  1. Hmmm, I would say very “assertive”, but not aggressive. [I’ll let someone else to the etymology for the difference. ;-/]

  2. Dear JCF, I read it as a play on passive/aggressive, passive/passive, aggressive/passive, aggressive/aggressive, etc. OCICBW…

…and, of course, the wv for this reply is “dictions”!

  3. Exactly, Lois. We’re used to passive aggressive. But Jesus was aggressive passive. He turned the other cheek but, to be honest, he started most of the fights in the first place. I can empathise with that.

  4. Ah. Well, because I get very pissed-off whenever I see someone confuse “passive” w/ “pacifist” (I’ve even seen it spelled “passivist”! >:-0), I don’t see the link otherwise.

    Jesus wasn’t “passive” anything!

  5. I think he was passive at times. Whether or not he was a pacifist is harder to tell. Yes, there’s the turn the other cheek stuff. But there was also a lot about swords and stuff.
