“We’re on the march wi Mao’s Army, we’re goin’ to the Argentine. And we’ll realy shake them up when we blaw the Yanks tae ****cause we own their industrial machine!”
I’m lost. Clueless. Without a map.
Sorry, I’ll expalin: in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina, the Scottish Football team (soccer, not rugby or that funny yank game) had a song entitled “we’re on the March with Ally’s Army”. The verse is a spoof on it. MP’s on about the arrival of 2 Chinese (or Commie) pandas at Edinburgh Zoo this weekend.
Ohhhhhh. Okay. thanks, fr dougal.
fr dougal, could you be on-call to translate all of MP’s posts? ;-p
MP == still worrying about (and praying for) your in-laws, your wife, and you. Blessings.
Wot Susankay Said.
Fr. Dougal would be well able to explain my posts but translation would just make them more difficult for you Americans to comprehend, him being Scottish and all that. Bear in mind that the Queen’s English is very much a second language for the Scots (a third language in the islands and Glasgow) and most of them never bother to learn it.
He’s baaaack! (Oh, yes. Definitely.)

Here’s an interesting little article about it along with a video.
Pandas for Scotland
I don’t really know what I think in this regard, by the way.
Of course I can translate JCF: MP is essentially Geordie who, as any fule knowz, are just Scots with the brains taken out:-)
The Queens English is still something we do MP – after all, Betty von Saxe-Coburg-Gotha is half Scottish on her mammy’s side:-)
Booya! Got a point there, Fr. D.
