Here is a service of Holy Communion for today,
the First Sunday after Trinity.
As we had so much fancy liturgy with Corpus Christi and John the Baptist I've made this service quite plain. There's still some lovely music and a short sermon, but there isn't as much mixing and editing as usual. I hope you enjoy the change of pace.
The words and credits can be found at ST. LAIKA'S.
“God will provide a *lamb my son*“: never forgotten that OT lesson! :-0
There are no punctuation marks in Hebrew, so this phrase is ambiguous.
Yes. It could be “God will provide a lamb. My son.” A midrash hinges on the observation that never again, after this event, do God and Abraham speak ”face to face”. Whose fault?
I loved this service.
Thanks, Ellie. I decided to confront the “text of terror” head on rather than pretend it doesn’t exist.
