WE HAVE A RUNNER IN THIS ONE

From HENRIETTAPOST.COM:

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities is hosting its third annual “Gorgeous Grandma” contest. In celebration of Gorgeous Grandma Day July 23, it is hosting a contest for anyone ages 5 to 13 who thinks his or her Grandma is gorgeous.

Submissions to the contest must include at least three reasons why Grandma is gorgeous and a description of what the contestant likes to do with Grandma.

Okay, ignore the age restrictions - we can lie on the application form. I await your submissions in due course.

Please keep your answers concerning what you would like to do with Grandma both legal and within the bounds of possibility.

  1. Mind you, when I worked in the defense industry, there were a lot of ex-military who had gone into the service right out of high school, and many of them were grandparents in their very early 40s, so you could get some real candidates for the Babelicious Bishops campaign…..there is that little thing about seminary, but you can work that out…..:-)

  2. I hate these things– they are so patronizing. Let us just get old and be whatever.

  3. Is that a “no” then, Ann?
That would be a shame because I think you’re in with a good chance of winning it. At the moment the sensible money is on you and the Kaeton woman and I think she might blow it at the personality round. Especially if she bites the judge.

  4. Well, left out again. Never had children, so, not a grandma. (sigh)

On the other hand, I look a lot like the model (well, except for the blouse, and the brooch, and, yes, the hairstyle, and my eyes are hazel). I’m gonna get in trouble for responding to this, plus I hate these fakey things, too, like Ann, so the mouth is spot on.

  5. Does Ann have grandchildren? If she does, and now that she’s dropped out of the race, perhaps you could borrow hers, Lois. What do you look like in a bikini?
