MORE EXTREME TALENT – WE ARE NOT WORTHY

From Suzer:

I sing in OurSong, Atlanta's Gay and Lesbian Chorus. We had our holiday concert a couple weeks ago (at the beginning of December), and playing with us was an amazingly talented young woman, Angelica Hairston, who is a 17-year-old high school senior who is an accomplished harpist and violinist. (She is a student of our director, Robert Glor.) She got a standing ovation the first night of our concert - she was really astounding. Not only does she play well (both harp and violin), she has the poise, intelligence, and a shining beauty that will take her far.

Here is Angelica, backed by Suzer's Norwegian death metal combo, OurSong. I have no idea which one is Suzer, although I don't think she is the singer with the beard. Of course, I could be wrong ...

  1. Ha! I find the thought of your refined, well-dressed choir screaming “Aaarghhh!!!” and “Satan Rules!” at their regular, concert hall audience very appealing. And darling, if you ever do do it, you simply must video it. The world is waiting.

  2. I have heard them sing and they are amazing. They have an extensive style range MP you might be more than slightly surprised at how they could handle heavy metal. I would expect good things.

  3. We have done ABBA songs. Not nearly heavy metal, but for a GLBT chorus, it’s a step in that direction.

Well, then again, maybe not. 🙂

  4. And thank you for the compliment, JimB. Our directors do manage to choose a wonderful and varied repertoire for us.
