THE PRAYER LIST2ND. JANUARY 2011

From THE BBC:

A severe thunderstorm threatening flash floods has been forecast for the already badly inundated Australian state of Queensland. More than 20 towns have already been cut off or flooded across an area larger than France and Germany, with more than 200,000 people affected.

Floodwaters could reach nine metres (30 feet) on Monday and peak at 9.4 metres on Wednesday.

A rather nasty leg infection has meant more antibiotics and having to keep my leg elevated.

From Wade:

I took my best friend Rich to Massachusetts General Hospital Monday for a Catheterization, thinking we'd return to Portland that evening, but they wouldn't let him leave. He had a quadruple bypass yesterday and is doing well, albeit in much discomfort. Any prayers would be much appreciated.

From Mike:

Prayer requests continue for Aileen.

"Thanks so very much for all your prayers. The surgery went very well, however there is a problem. The surgeon was disheartened to find that there is a good deal more infection around the pancreas in an area that he had just cleaned out during the surgery on Christmas Eve. Just checked with the nurse this morning, and her white cell count continues to climb. Please, Lord, help this situation with my wife. Please!"

  1. I saw the New Year in sitting in a side bay at A+E. My GP’s cunning plan to have me admitted quicker by this method failed. Arriving at 6.30, I was finally hooked up to IV anti-bitoics at 1.30am.
I got home a little while ago, hoping never to spend quite such a challenging New Year; I sent Nige home so Ellie wouldn’t be on her own and my only company as the clock ticked us into the new year was my mobile phone.
I can only hope things this year get better.
