WIFE STUDYING IS WRONG – DON’T DO IT! — 3 Comments

  1. It’s not just Uganda. I once performed a wedding for a couple who had been “engaged” for 15 years. The groom had two adult sons, and they had a teen age daughter together.

I asked why they had waited so long to be married, and the fellow added, as though it were the most natural thing in the world, “I wanted to wait until my boys were grown up.”

  2. Father Anonymous’ comment reminded me of the story of an elderly couple who were before the judge, seeking a divorce for irreconcilable differences. The judge said, “But you’ve been married for sixty-five years! Why would you want to divorce now?” “Well,” the man answered, “we were waiting for all the kids to die.”
