OVER AT ST. LAIKA’S AND THE ANCHORHOLD

I've cobbled together a rather lovely service today to commemorate Saint C. S. Lewis and posted it over at ST. LAIKA'S. You, pretty much, have to be a Lewis completist to get all the references to the great man and his work that I've stuffed into the service, but don't be put off by this - it works well even if you have only seen the film.

As this is the first post at St. Laika's since before my week of pain, I have put a lot of work into it. So please, art the very least skip through to the poetry, music and my reading from "The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe." I am particularly proud of my Lucy voice.

At THE ANCHORHOLD, Ellie has posted an excellent piece on Christ the King.

  1. it works well even if you have only seen the film.

You mean “Shadowlands”, or the Narnia flicks?

  2. in 1963 it was my 22nd birthday on the 22nd – a little boy in my 4th grade classroom came running in with the news and obviously quoting his parents’ sentiments- said “oh good” the president has been shot. I did not believe it — school was dismissed shortly and all of us went home and watched the whole terrible time and the funeral on TV
