THE ANGLICAN COVENANTAND THE NEW WORLD ORDER

For the Anglican Communion, the adoption of the Covenant would be akin to every sovereign parliament in the world handing over all national decision making to a United Nations, where every nation, acting alone, could veto any domestic legislation passed by individual national governments. The human race, at this moment in its evolution, is nowhere near morally mature enough to embrace such universal democratisation and neither is the Anglican Communion.

  1. Indeed. If the covenant passes, and we know how it WILL work if passed, it would essentially halt any movement to listen to the Holy Spirit and develop new ways of looking at the scriptures. The permission Christ gave us to use the Holy Spirit (the paraclete) to learn new truths in light of new discoveries would be over-ridden. In function, there would be no difference between the Anglican Communion and the Roman Catholic Church. Our understanding of our world and relationship to God would be locked, most likely forever. The Muslims did much the same thing when they stopped new interpretations of the Quran some 900 years ago. How’s that going?

  2. …and the phobes want to make themselves the “Permanent Members of the Security Council” w/ a VETO over the rest. [To continue the UN analogy]
