PUBIC DEMONSTRATION IN SPAIN AGAINST STONING

From TYPICALLY SPANISH:

A completely naked woman, apart from her face being covered with a Burka, has been walking through the central Dels Àngels square in Barcelona, close to the MACBA Contemporary Art Museum.

It’s a piece of performance art from the Argentinean artist Luizo Vega, and is to show the repulsion at the possible execution of a 43 year old women in Iran, Shakineh Mohammadi Ashtianí, by being stoned to death on charges of adultery.

The following video contains public pubic nudity.

  1. With the still shot, the disclaimer really isn’t necessary! O_o

[MP: in the interests of your career, maybe move this to ChinWag?]

  2. Oh yes, Lisbeth, it’s all very easy signing petitions. What I want to know is if you are prepared to show real commitment to the cause by staging a similar protest in your local art centre. I will sort out the publicity.

  3. It’s only a body, JCF. As it is not being abused in any way it is not pornographic. It’s actually taken from a Spanish news report.

  4. It is just that Statesonians are used to having to pay to see something such as this, MP. They never even see dead bodies on their news casts, just sheets or tarps that they are told has a body under it. There could be old newspapers under it for all that they know.

  5. She’s more covered up than most of the sunbathers at either Playalinda or Apollo Beaches, here in Brevard County (both are clothing-optional).
