From Ellie:

It's almost 3:00 here and, as you can see, I'm not sleeping yet.

Little James was baptized some time yesterday. He will have open heart surgery this morning at 10:00 Eastern (USA) time. It seems that his pulmonary artery is not connected to the ventricle but to another blood vessel. The surgeon said he would die in a month without surgery. Apparently, that condition is quite rare.

My heart is heavy for our precious Jane. She is my brother's second child and has always been a worrier.

I've been keeping vigil but I'm going to try to get some sleep soon.

  1. Thank you so much for posting this, MadPriest.

As I said to my sister-in-law last night, God loves that baby more than we can possibly ask or imagine. We all need to be consoled and sustained by that great truth.

I will send in an update as soon as I know anything.

Bless you all so much for your prayer support.

  2. Ellie,

Prayers ascending now and in my rosary devotions today.

Holy Luke pray with us for his healers.
Holy Raphael who is like God, pray with us for healing.

  3. The latest update I’ve been given is that little James came through the surgery all right but is still not breathing on his own so that is of some concern. As always, I’ll let you know when I know more.

    Blessings to you all.
