EVIL PENETRATORS TO FUND OROMBI’S SHINDIG

From THE DAILY MONITOR:

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Henry Luke Orombi, yesterday said the Anglican Church today faces many challenges which have made it dysfunctional and it had lost it's credibility.

“What I can tell you is that the Anglican Church is very broken. It has been torn at its deepest level, and it is a very dysfunctional family of the provincial churches. It is very sad for me to see how far down the church has gone, ” Bishop Orombi said at the opening of a three-day provincial Assembly in Mukono.

He proposed that the Church of Uganda engages church structures at a very minimal level until godly faith and order have been restored. “I can assure you that we have tried as a church to participate in the processes, but they are dominated by western elites, whose main interest is advancing a vision of Anglicanism that we do not know or recognise. We are a voice crying in the wilderness,” he said.

Yes. But...

EVIL PENETRATORS TO FUND OROMBI’S SHINDIG — 12 Comments

  1. My biggest mistake was thinking Henry Orombi was intelligent and sincere…this guy wouldn´t know ¨responsible¨ (especially for his own actions) and ¨accountable¨ if THEY chased him down the street yelling ¨we´re virtues and we´ll GIVE of ourselves FREELY to you.¨ No doubt he´d feel attacked by ¨western elitists¨ making sinful demands.

  2. Leonardo, it is all in the comparison. Placed next to his Nigerian counterparts, Orombi looks like a minor saint. But then so do a lot of others!

With that Trinity money tainting the whole conference, they should cancel it. 😉

    FWIW
    jimB

  3. I find it rather irksome that Trinity money is underwriting a conference where they know in advance such c**p will be spewing forth. Let Orombi fund his own hate speach for goodness sakes.

  4. There’s no silliness, like church silliness, like no silliness I know…..

    Everybody!

    Welcome back, Mad One!

  5. I’m reminded of Lenin’s line: “the capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.”

    …but Trinity’s just GIVING it away! O_o

  6. I remember this Trinity grant being reported on Episcopal Cafe. It was given to Kenya, and I believe there will be people attending from countries that plan to continue in communion with us.
Turning the photo into a ‘toon, however, is, as always, brilliant!

  7. One thing I’ll say for Orombi – he keeps us aware of the desperate plight of Uganda, how desperately they need and absolutely lack an adequate supply of thorazine.
