SURPRISE AND SHOCK THROUGHOUT WORLDAS NEWS COMES IN THAT DISCOVERY OF NOAH’S ARK MAY BE A HOAX

From THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR:

A Chinese-Turkish team from Noah's Ark Ministries International held a press conference April 25 in Hong Kong to present their findings and say they were “99 percent sure” that pieces of wood found on Mount Arafat above the 12,000-feet elevation and dated as 4,800 years old were from the biblical Noah’s ark.

But Dr. Randall Price, an evangelical Christian and former member of the Chinese-led team that announced this week’s finding, says the latest purported finding may not withstand closer scrutiny.

"If the world wants to think this is a wonderful discovery, that’s fine. My problem is that, in the end, proper analysis may show this to be a hoax and negatively reflect how gullible Christians can be," he says.

A leaked email from Price – which he confirms that he wrote – shows that he has reason to believe that a group of local Kurdish men trucked wood up to the mountain and staged an elaborate hoax for the Chinese team.

  1. “But dad are you sure they’ll believe this wood is from Noah’s Ark?”

“There’s a new sucker comes up this mountain every year son!”

  2. “If the world wants to think this is a wonderful discovery, that’s fine.”

Somehow I think this is not what the world has been thinking.

  3. Well, there you go. When it’s found to be a hoax, they can always blame it on the Kurds(who were probably laughing all the way back down the mountain).

  4. LMAO, a hoax? Next you will tell me the shroud of Turin depicts mid 15th century burial customs or something! Ooops, it does? Well, no matter.

  5. And this revelation, that there was / was never / an ark, changes my view of God / Christ / Y~hw~h in some transformational fashion? Pffft. Makes more sense to me that the story of the flood is a hand-me-down tale from the creation of the Black Sea. That had to be traumatic for the local tribes.

  6. Oh, for goodness sake, PP! Not that old Black Sea chestnut. Modern geological techniques have proved beyond doubt that the flood stories are based on the flooding of the English Channel and the submersion of Doggerland which resulted in the disappearance of the ancient civilisation of Atlantis.
