FISTS OF LOVE play and record against the post-industrial backdrop of Cincinnati’s Mill Creek Valley. Conceived by songwriters Donna Jay Rubin (Snake Punching Contest) and Chris Schadler (Fairmount Girls, Neato Torpedo) upon Rubin’s return from the west coast, the band began as a 3 piece joined by drummer Mathew Arnold (Mallory) in 2008. Cedric Rose (The Underwoods) soon replaced Arnold on drums and shortly thereafter the band became a 4 piece when joined by Mike Weinel (High and Low, Brian Olive) on bass. Nearly one year later Mike was replaced by John Curley (Afghan Whigs, Staggering Statistics), and now the four friends continue to play and record amongst the vibrant talent of the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky music community. Other contributing musicians have included Eric Bingham (The Griefs) and Dan McCabe (The Kiss Me Everlasting, Roundhead). Their debut EP, recorded by Brian Olive at the Diamonds Studio as well as 2 tracks by John Curley at Ultrasuede Studios, is due to be released this March.
