TWO HOURS STUCK IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER,WHICH I SHOULD HAVE SPENT WITH MY FAMILY,JUST TO GET GRANDMÈRE MIMI OFF MY CASE — 26 Comments

  1.      Beautiful scenery! I love your cute dog! Strangely, the ruggedness reminds me of my home in Nevada, except far more water… and green… and Scottish people.

  2. you were in Scotland for a whole WEEK, I am pea-green with envy. I love Scotland, it is so beautiful.

Dogs very cute. Mrs MP takes very good photos.

  3. Much gratitude to Mrs Madpriest and Mimi. I think you would not have spend that much time if you were not looking for pictures that did not have your image or cutting your image out. But joking aside, I love mountains and water and it was very inspirational with the music. So thanks

  4. My goodness, Jonathan! All I asked was did you enjoy your travels. I was thinking you hadn’t really gone to Scotland at all, because you never said a word. And now I see that you did. The pictures are lovely, as is the music, and they’re nicely put together, too. Good work! You answered my question

And the themes of the journey would be gorgeous lakes, beautiful mountains, handsome dogs, and fine old distilleries? Do I have that right?

  5. That had to be good for my blood pressure. I certainly shall haste. All that and doggies too.

When BP and I were on the Isle of Lewis in August 2003 we were taken on a drive up back and beyond to a bridge that had never been completed. The quick little stream that ran under the bridge had water the color of brownish purple. When we followed it down to the shore, it was running from the stream bed over the sand and into the sea, and the sea was tanin purple out as far as the first line of rocks.

Apropos of nothing…just remembering. Thanks for the time you spent in front of the computer, MP.

  6. I have such a strong wish to someday visit the British Isles. These picture are beautiful! Hope you both had a relaxing time on vacation!

  7. Oh, my mum and dad’s Skye Terriers were from the Talisker kennel… but that was in Canada. I never knew the origin of the name! I guess if you can live with 2 Skye’s you might need a dram or two of Talisker fortification along the way!

  8. I’m glad Mimi’s persistence paid off. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Add intolerable summer heat, sage brush and rattle snakes and it could be Eastern Washington.

Fun to see the Hogwarts’ Express, but did you not make it as far north as Hogwarts, or did they not allow you on school grounds?

  9. Very nice. I hope it was restorative for both of you (and the dogs, too, of course). I like the final song but I am a sucker for Celtic music, especially in Highland Gaelic or Irish.

  10. Wonderful. I spent my retirement bonus on a trip to Scotland. Got there and three days later the travel company went belly up and we came back. I should have stayed on my own, It was a beautiful three days. Thanks for sharing, The two hours was worth it and thank Mrs. Madpriest for me.

  11. After a long night drive home, my dog Max and I shared a hambuger, sitting on the floor of my room, while enjoying your beautiful, serene presentation. Thank you Fr. & Mrs. Madpriest!

  12. MP, thanks to you for this wonderful presentation and to Mrs. MP for the lovely photos. Excellent choice in music I might add. This slide show was a wonderful way to begin my day!

  13. Jonathan wants you to think that I bombard him with emails, but I do not. I hadn’t emailed him in weeks, because he often doesn’t respond, so why bother emailing?

I asked him how were he and Mrs MP and how they enjoyed their trip to Scotland. Jonathan didn’t answer the first question, but he spent two hours on the video, which is, indeed, an answer to the trip question. He must have wanted to do the video anyway, because he could have answered, “We had a lovely trip,” in just a few seconds. Right?

  14. Jesus could have just waved his hands and our sins would have been forgiven and he didn’t. But that doesn’t mean he wanted to die on the cross.

  15. I wash my hands of the whole thing, but for looking and enjoying the video and the music.

Was the music by the Runrigs all from one album, or bits and pieces from here and there?

  16. Runrig *RULES*

This video is awesomesauce. So good I could eat it.

    But I won’t. LOL

Tracie the Green With Envy b/c Jonathan went to Scotland and I’m stuck here in Florida

  17. Guess I’m lucky to live here, huh? It’s just when it rains for weeks on end ….
But the sun is shining today, in a pale, Spring-like way, and the birds are going mad in the garden and the sea is merging with the sky, and it’s a good place to be. Great slide-show, MP & Missus!
