Lorna May Wadsworth's new work will hang behind the altar
at ST. GEORGE'S CHURCH, Nailsworth. But first it will be
exhibited in St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Trafalgar Square,
from Thursday 4th March until Easter Sunday, 4th April. It's a
bit too right on and yuppie for me but then Wadsworth is often
referred to as the Labour Party's artist in residence.
The Grand Tufti likes it.

  1. I know what you mean. That appears to be Our Lord as a young Gordon Broon, with Tony Blair third from left. You’d have thought he could at least have been Judas. Or at least Geoff Hoon.

  2. I’m reminded of the words of The Alchemist in Venture Bros.:

“That’s totally gay! And that comes from a man who willingly has sex with other men!”

I especially love how it would seem that Andrew VanWyngarden from MGMT is cuddling up with Seal in the middle there, while Joe Dallesandro lounges back showing some nipple and armpit action there on the right.

Who knew the disciples modelled for A&F?!

  3. Last Supper in the bathhouse?

Not a bad painting, but hardly a new take on the Gospel at this point is it?

  4. It seems rather pointless to me to keep churning out different versions of this one old master. There could have been a much more vibrant re-imagining. Some nice cameos in it though. I shall ponder the significance of the three arum lillies lying on the table.
