OUR MAN IN DUBAI — 5 Comments

  1. “Rowan Williams … was integral to determining the building’s final design.”

But no matter, Rowan: Ratzinger Corp. will always design a BIGGER one! ;-X

  2. I have never been to Dubai, but it is my understanding that it is a piece of Arabian desert. The photograph seems to confirm that.

So with gazillions of acres (or hectares, as the case may be) of empty land, a decision was made to build this 2700+ft/800+m skyscraper, I suppose to save ground space, so the countryside wouldn’t be overcrowded.

I see that the wind engineering of this building was designed by Rowan Williams Davies & Irwin Inc.

The Anglican Covenant is beginning to make more sense….

(What didn’t we understand about “Babel”?)

  3. What didn’t we understand about “Babel”?

Yes! I see the link, WSJM:

Come, let us go down, and confuse their language

That’s got to be about Rowan. I find his language completely confusing.
