  1. we have long given up lick stamps in favor of self-adhesive in most cases

“Americans to get chance to stick it to the nun” … ??

  2. I haven’t seen this evidence of pride on the part of Mother Teresa, but even if this is true, she deserves to be known as one who, in her words, brought attention to “the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the blind, the lepers, all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society and are shunned by everyone.”

  3. Maybe. But not without a lot of strings attached. You have to be pretty naive to regard her as a saint nowadays following the making public of so much research into her life and the realistic comments of many who knew who and those who worked with her.

There are millions of people in the world doing far more for the poor than she did. You do not hear of them because they do not publicise their deeds or allow men to profit from the publication of their deeds. This is in line with Christ’s commands. Teresa, was not a humble person and that is why she has had her reward.

  4. Why not give praise to this great Christian woman?

Because she chose to have it before she died.

Oh, my. That’s quite a comeback, MadPriest and, sadly, I agree with you. When I found out that she denied pain medication to people dying of cancer I was simply appalled. And I had already been long disturbed by her collusion with right-wing super-wealthy types.

All that represents quite a bit of disillusionment on my part because I used to admire her very much.

  5. Well then we should show the humility that she didn’t.

You do that by being an anonymous giver, not an Anonymous twit.
